Spotlight Unveils New Features: Don't Miss the Next Big Launch

What is KuCoin Spotlight?

KuCoin Spotlight is a curated token launch platform that gives KuCoin users access to early-stage, high-quality crypto projects. Through a secure and transparent process, users can participate in token sales, engage with projects, and support the next generation of Web3 innovation.

Highlights of KuCoin Spotlight

1. Multi-Token Subscription Mechanism

Spotlight supports multi-token participation, enabling users to commit various supported assets (e.g., USDT, KCS) for token sales:

  • Subscribe with multiple tokens simultaneously
  • Real-time allocation calculation and automatic refunds of over-subscriptions
  • Optimizes capital efficiency and improves accessibility for users

2. KCS Participation Benefits

KCS holders unlock unique advantages for Spotlight participation:

  • Support Flexible-Staked KCS for token subscription
  • Enjoy exclusive discounts with KCS subscription

3. Fair Token Distribution Model

Every participant receives tokens based on their share of the total committed funds, ensuring a fair and transparent outcome. In high-demand Spotlight events (i.e., total user commitments exceed the token supply), users will still receive tokens in proportion to their committed amount relative to the total committed by all participants.

Guide to Participating in Spotlight

1. Tap on Spotlight and choose the campaign you are interested in.

3. During the "Subscription" phase, click "Subscribe" and select your preferred commitment currency. Once you make your first subscription, the selected currency cannot be changed. Subscriptions with different currencies will no longer be accepted. You may subscribe multiple times using the same currency as long as the subscription hard cap has not been reached.

4. Participants who subscribe using KCS are eligible for exclusive discounts, determined by their KCS Loyalty Level. Additionally, flexibly staked KCS under the KCS Staking 2.0 program is supported for direct use in Spotlight subscriptions via the event page without the need for redemption, ensuring a seamless and efficient participation experience.

5. During the Token Distribution phase, the system will automatically calculate your token allocation based on your share of the total committed funds. Allocated tokens will be credited to your Trading Account, and any unused funds will be refunded to the corresponding subscription accounts.

FAQ

1. What are the requirements to participate in Spotlight?

To participate in Spotlight token sales, users must:

  • Complete Identity Verification (KYC)
  • Use a master account (sub-accounts and restricted accounts are not eligible)
  • Reside in a region not restricted by compliance regulations

KuCoin reserves the right to disqualify users found engaging in fraud, manipulation, or multi-account abuse.

2. How is the conversion rate determined for non-USDT token subscription?

When subscribing with a non-USDT token (e.g., KCS), the conversion rate to the new token is determined by the following three factors: Snapshot Price of the committed token, Subscription Price of the new token, and Exclusive Discount based on your loyalty level (if applicable).

Example:

  • Subscription Price of New Coin: 1 USDT
  • Snapshot Price of KCS: 10 USDT
  • KCS Loyalty Discount: 10%
  • After applying the discount: 1 New Coin = 0.09 KCS

The snapshot price of non-USDT tokens is calculated using the average spot price over the campaign period. The final conversion rate will be announced after the token allocation is completed.

3. How are the tokens allocated?

Your token allocation is calculated proportionally based on your committed amount relative to the total funds committed by all users.

Formula:
Token Allocation = Total Tokens Offered × (Committed Amount ÷ Total Committed Amount by All Users)

Example:

  • Committed Token: 5 KCS
  • Average KCS Spot Price During Campaign: 10 USDT
  • Your Committed Amount: 5 × 10 = 50 USDT

This USDT-equivalent value will be used to calculate your share of the total commitment pool.
If the event includes a maximum allocation cap, the final tokens received will not exceed that limit. In oversubscribed events, token allocation will be adjusted proportionally. Users may receive fewer tokens than originally expected. Any unused or excess funds will be automatically refunded to your Trading Account or Financial Account after the distribution is complete.

4. What is the maximum subscription amount?

Each Spotlight sale may define a maximum subscription cap per user and/or a maximum token allocation cap. Please refer to the announcement for each individual campaign, as limits vary based on project goals and tokenomics.

5. Can committed funds be withdrawn?

Once funds are committed to a Spotlight event, they cannot be withdrawn or canceled during the subscription period. If the event is oversubscribed and you receive fewer tokens than the value of your commitment, any unused funds will be automatically refunded to your Spot Account after the token distribution is completed.
